Paris now has a new address where you can taste the high Chinese cuisine thanks to the opening of the restaurant Shang Palace housed inside the Hotels ultra-luxury Shangri-La Hotel. Here the chef Frank Xu is ready to defy convention, offering menus that can arrive one hundred and twenty euros per person and that offer only genuine Chinese cuisine, without any adaptation to the palate and Western tastes. It is a real challenge for the chef who wants to bring back into fashion the real gastronomy of his country and retrace the steps of Chen Soleil-East, The only Chinese restaurant that has earned a Michelin star in 1999 before losing it in 2007.
Paris has always been considered a must-see destination for gourmands. Despite the rise of other countries such as Spain or Northern Europe new capital of haute cuisine, the City of Lights is a true concentration of Luxury restaurants.
For this chef Frank Xu wanted to revive the Chinese food at its best, knowing that here he would find the proper recognition for his work, based on raw materials exceptional, excellent technique and respect for the original flavors.
In France there are those who have bet on when to expect my first Michelin star for the Shang Palace.
