
The Steinway & Sons one of the largest manufacturers of pianos in the world to commemorate the 70th birthday of the legendary singer John Lennon, has created a limited number of pianos. The instruments of the limited edition “Imagine”, has been made on the model of the white Steinway piano that Lennon gave to Yoko Ono in 1971 on the occasion of his birthday, and is still at their home in Manhattan.
After the collection of Mont Blanc fountain pen signed, here comes this deluxe piano: another initiative to commemorate what would have been the seventieth birthday of John Lennon.
The music stand of every piano in the series is decorated with four original drawings penned by John Lennon himself: “Come Together”, from the homonymous album by the Beatles, the singer reflects the desire to bring people together, “Grand Piano” a design that captures the process of writing songs, “Freda People” expresses the singer’s passion to use music for the good of humanity, and “Self Portrait ” the most famous self-portrait of the famous singer.
On the piano are also inscribed with the verse “You May Say I’ma Dreamer” at the bottom of the board ‘gold, and other drawings and quotations of the iconic singer.
Ron Losby, president of Steinway & Sons said: “I’m really excited about the launch of this piano unique in the market. John Lennon was a visionary. It a real honor to be chosen by Ms Lennon to create this object overtime, to pay homage. ”
The price of this incredible limited number of pianos has not yet been announced, but a part of the proceeds will be donated to charities dedicated to the singer of “The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus”.
